Isabel Muñoz (b.1951) is an internationally renowned photographer and has been so for thirty years. Originally from Barcelona, she studied in Madrid and then traveled the world with the theme of dance across different cultures as a common thread, looking at body movement as expression of culture and ritual. “The truth is that the body speaks, and speaks a lot,” she has said. Her work is part of numerous public and private collections in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. She was elected a member of the Royal Academy of Spain in 2023. The two images above are from her “Mitologías” series.
