Layo Bright's practice explores storytelling, feminism, remembrance, advocacy and migration. Bright (b. Lagos, Nigeria) received her LL. B (Honors) from Babcock University, was called to the Nigerian Bar Association and received her MFA in Fine Art (Honors) from the Parsons School of Design. Bright has exhibited work at prominent venues including The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT; Sean Kelly Gallery, New York, NY; and Bode Projects, Berlin, Germany. She was awarded residencies at The Corning Museum of Glass, Corning NY; Triangle, Brooklyn, NY; The Studios at Mass MoCA, North Adams, MA, and elsewhere.
